Just a short summary: a TH pad (or plated through-hole) is a hole on a board that has an annular ring and which is plated all the way through the board. This may be a connection point for a through-hole component, a via to pass a signal through, or a mounting hole. An SMD pad is a portion of exposed metal on the surface of a board to which a component is soldered.

The brand new PCB Droid will let you manipulate the shape of these pads. You can change them to be a rounded, octagonal and rectangular shape!

In the previous version, you could only change the diameter of the TH pad, but as a new feature, you will be able to change its dimensions (height and width) instead.
